Welcome to the Nicholas Benotto web site. Friends and family call me Nick. I am a musician, vocalist, chef, car enthusiast, automotive technician and blogger. My other interests include working on the Benotto family history (I am the first Nicholas Benotto, by the way) and all things Italy and Italian. I have been to Italy several times and hope to return again soon.

Here’s a new page I am working on — all about my favorite car brands and some fun facts about them: https://nickbenotto.com/nick-benotto-the-journey-through-classic-cars/. Lots more cars to be added. So many cars to choose from, so little time. I wish some of these were in the Benotto garage. One day.

In my latest blog, I publish a post about genealogy and exploring your family roots. The Benotto family did that and it was a lot of fun. We learned some super interesting stuff about our ancestors. I list some tips in the post: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/05/09/genealogy-made-easy-insights-from-nick-benotto/

In an earlier blog, I published a post that my mom wrote on her Medium site. I was really proud of her for writing her own post and she gave me permission to share it here. It is about the importance of a Sunday family dinner, and the older I get, the more I appreciate them for sure. Here is a link to the post: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/04/26/building-family-bonds-through-sunday-meals/

Another recent post covers four favorite pasta recipes of the Benotto family. Whenever I hear, “Nicholas, dinner is ready!”, I come running. These pasta dishes are super easy to make and always hit the spot. I hope you like them: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/04/18/easy-italian-pasta-recipes-from-the-benotto-family/

I also published a travel guide for those of you looking to find those hidden gem spots in Italy. If you’ve already been to Italy’s most famous cities, like Rome and Venice, and you want to venture out to the gorgeous smaller cities, you may be interested in this post. I have been lucky enough to explore a lot of Italy with my family, and this post contains suggestions from first-hand experience. Here is a post about friendship. It gives some advice I’ve gotten on making friends, and I share which advice has worked for me and which has not. You can find it here: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/04/11/where-did-all-your-friends-go-and-how-can-you-make-new-friends-now/

Below are blog posts from earlier this year:
This one is about my Italian family’s recipes. I grew up where food was a main interest and enjoyment. When I was in Italy, food was always a focus of our day. What restaurants would we try, what was Nonna Benotto cooking for our midday meal and noticing how different the foods of each region of Italy are. Here is the blog link: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/04/02/nick-benotto-italian-family-recipes-a-culinary-journey/

This post is about my Italy trip and all our Benotto family adventures: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/03/27/nick-benotto-a-visit-to-italy/

I also wrote a post about cruises. I was lucky to have been able to take many cruises, starting when I was a kid. They are a great family vacation option because there is something for everyone. Here is that blog post: https://nickbenotto.com/2025/03/30/nick-benotto-the-best-things-about-cruising/

Miscellaneous videos
Under the name Nicki B instead of Nicholas Benotto, I recorded a song, Love Me Again, while I was in college. I wrote both the music and lyrics. You can find it here on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/21eXuiChazW0TTBcGz6cqd
In high school, I was lucky enough to perform with Broadway veteran Jenny Lee Stern. She has a great sense of humor and is quite nice. Here is a clip from YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hagq2zIYwgc
I also performed in The Music Man in high school and here is that clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xat9y31Zts4
Choir was also a big part of high school for me. Here is a clip where we sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0QTwJcqV_Q
These days, I am working on my career as an automotive technician. I have worked on all kinds of cars, both foreign and domestic. I like all kinds of cars and have recently gotten more interested in hybrids. I didn’t think I’d like them as much as I do.
I have also developed an interest in hotrods from the 1960s, especially the 66 SS. I have been lucky enough to drive one and it was a beast. Would love to have one in my garage one day. I have yet to work on a Ferrari (which would be a dream) but I have worked on some gorgeous Corvettes.
